Abstract

|
In his 1987 statement ’Domestic aviation a new direction for the 1990s’, in which he
announced the establishment of the CAA, the then Minister for Transport and
Communications stated that part of the Government’s major reform objective was: ’a
continuation of Australia’s world renowned aviation safety record’.
The Minister also stated ’..that the Australian Civil Aviation Authority will be
required to give primacy to safety considerations over commercial ones…’
